On Saturday I decided to spend a day away from doing school work on the computer and just enjoying the day at the beach. It began with a beautiful sunrise and a few hours of bright sunshine, then the clouds rolled in and ran began to fall. I still had a great day at the beach.

Crabbers waiting for the boss to show up to help unload the holds of boat,
Repairing lines and nets while they continue to wait for the boss.
The May River is also known for its oysters. This area is one of the 6 oyster shell recycling areas in Beaufort County.
I decided to venture into an area where I am uncomfortable, photographing life as it happens in the Low Country of South Carolina. There is usually little time to frame up the perfect photo, but you have to take the photo ops where they come - just like life here. Enjoy the photos of fresh crabs which is a huge industry for our area. On this day, refrigeration trucks were waiting to take trucks full of bushel baskets of Blue Crab to Washington D.C and Atlanta GA.

Another area that I find truly fascinating to photograph is historical buildings and structures. These are a few that I have found in South Carolina.

Although I currently enjoy taking photographs of natural landscapes and old buildings, I went through several different phases. The next photos are of the time period when I enjoyed taking pictures of the flowers that I grew in my own garden or of those I found in their natural habitats.
